Starting Neverness to Everness without a guide risks wasting hours of farming on suboptimal choices. Here are the 15 most common mistakes from new players and how to avoid them.
Economy and farming
1. Spending Beetle Coins on cosmetics before your first bike
Save your first 30,000 Beetle Coins for the Tomorrow Rush. The mobility gain is huge.
2. Buying the B100 starter at 20,000
The B100 is far inferior to the Tomorrow Rush. Save the extra 10,000 BC and go straight to the red one.
3. Skipping daily Anomaly Commissions
Daily contracts grant Beetle Coins, Fons and feed the daily mission counter (which unlocks Annulith). Missing a day means losing this double reward.
4. Ignoring orange chests in Hethereau
The open world is filled with chests granting Beetle Coins and materials. Set up a weekly farming route to clear them methodically.
5. Converting all materials at the Hunter Exchange
The Hunter Exchange is tempting: it converts your drops into Beetle Coins. But do not empty your stock: keep ascension materials for your target characters before converting the surplus.
Characters and progression
6. Leveling too many characters to high tiers
The last ascension tiers cost massively. Focus your resources on 1 DPS + 1 Support before expanding the team.
7. Ascending without a planner
Use the ascension planner built into every character page. It calculates the exact materials needed so you never farm twice.
8. Ignoring level 1 Awakenings
The first Awakening on every character costs almost nothing and grants a solid boost to a key talent. Free buff overlooked by many.
9. Diving into Nanally Coluccis without backup
Nanally Coluccis is S-tier but needs synergy with Anima characters to shine. Without Mint or Jiuyuan at her side, her potential is limited.
Combat and exploration
10. Misreading the Esper Cycle wheel
Elemental reactions (Bloom, Burn, Nova...) double your damage. Test your composition on the team simulator before launching an Anomaly Hunt.
11. Spam parry on every boss
Some bosses punish poorly timed parries. Learn the patterns before your first serious run.
12. Neglecting Cartridges
A character without an equipped Cartridge loses a big chunk of DPS. See the Cartridges inventory for the full list.
13. Forgetting ARC 2pc + 4pc
The 4-piece ARC bonus is massive. Head to the ARCs guide to identify the perfect set per character.
Meta and long term
14. Pulling on the standard banner before the beginner one
The beginner banner has a strong rate-up on the first pulls. Empty it BEFORE touching the standard banner.
15. Ignoring promo codes
Redemption codes distribute Annulith, Beetle Coins and free materials. Up-to-date list: active promo codes.
