Launch of Neverness to Everness, you saved your first pulls and the banner screen pops up. Which S-Rank character should you pick to avoid regrets? Here is our verdict after dozens of hours of testing.

Available S-Ranks on Global

Three S-Rank characters are accessible from launch in May 2026:

  • Nanally Coluccis (Anima, DPS): current limited banner
  • Zero (Cosmos, DPS): permanent standard banner
  • Sakiri (Incantation, Support): permanent standard banner

Our pick #1: Zero

Zero remains the best first S-Rank for the majority of players. Why:

  • His Cosmos element triggers the Bloom (with Anima) and Remora (with Lakshana) reactions, among the most useful while farming
  • Solo DPS above tier thanks to his AoE ult
  • Available on the permanent standard banner: no timing pressure, you unlock him whenever you want
  • Fluid animations and visual mechanic tutorials that teach you the game well

If you hesitate and want a versatile character who stays useful into endgame, pick Zero.

Our pick #2: Sakiri (if you team up)

Sakiri is an excellent Support. New players underrate her because she does not produce big numbers solo, but:

  • Her buffs and utilities turn an average team into a meta team
  • Mandatory against late chapter Anomaly Hunt
  • Permanent standard: easy to pull at your pace

Recommended choice if you already know you will play in a team with friends.

What to think of Nanally Coluccis (limited banner)?

Nanally Coluccis is S-tier in single-target and shines in boss fights. But she is on a limited banner: she will rotate out and only return at spaced intervals.

When to grab her:

  • If you plan to play heavily right away (Nanally accelerates progression in chapters 1 to 4)
  • If you fall for the Anima design and the lore around it

When to skip her:

  • If this is your very first multi-pull and you plan to play casually: standard Zero is more cost-effective long-term
  • If you want to save for the next announced banner (often more powerful)

Pull tip: clear the beginner banners first

The game offers beginner banners with a strong rate-up on early pulls. Spend all your tickets there first before touching the standard or limited banners. The window is time-limited, do not miss it.
