The Type III modules in 3×1 shape fill the grid cells not covered by Cartridges. More cells = higher main stats, but harder to place without wasting space.
Optimization strategy: place Cartridges first to activate 4-pc bonuses, then fill remaining gaps with modules — prioritize Type IV (more raw stats) and finish with Type II for tight corners.
Character bonus: each character has a preferred Module Type that grants an extra bonus per matching module placed (visible on the character page).
