Esper Cycle Reactions: Full Element Guide for Neverness to Everness

Master the Esper Cycle system in Neverness to Everness: 6 duo reactions (Bloom, Burn, Nova...) and 2 advanced trios (Charge, Discord).

The Esper Cycle system is the signature mechanic of Neverness to Everness. Switching between characters at the right moment triggers elemental reactions that massively boost your damage.

How a reaction triggers

An Esper Cycle reaction activates when you switch to a different character whose Esper element is compatible with the previous one. Example: swapping from Zero (Cosmos) to Skia (Lakshana) triggers the Remora reaction.

Cycle Intensity, the key multiplier

Every character has a Cycle Intensity stat. When a reaction triggers, the higher Intensity between the two characters determines the bonus damage. Boost this stat through Cartridges.

The 6 main duo reactions

ReactionElementsEffect
RemoraLakshana + CosmosTarget is slowed (movement and attack speed) for 5 seconds. Decaying effect.
BloomCosmos + AnimaGenerates Vita Buds that hatch into Vita Pistils and explode every 2 seconds. Up to 3 buds simultaneously.
HexedAnima + IncantationDeals follow-up damage equal to 20% of Anima and Incantation damage taken within 12 seconds.
BurnIncantation + ChaosInflicts a Burn that deals damage over time for 15 seconds.
NovaChaos + PsycheMarks the target for 5 seconds. When the effect ends, the target takes massive Mental damage.
StainPsyche + LakshanaIncreases Psyche and Lakshana damage taken by 20% for 12 seconds.

The 2 advanced trio reactions

  • Charge (Lakshana + Cosmos + Anima): when Vita Pistils hit a target affected by Remora, the active character gains 10 bonus Ultimate Energy.
  • Discord (Incantation + Chaos + Psyche): when a target suffers Nova and Burn simultaneously, its Break gauge is heavily reduced.

Composition strategy

To maximize damage, build your team with characters whose elements are adjacent on the Esper Cycle wheel. Complementary pairs trigger reactions on every switch, turning an average fight into an optimized one.

Test your team in 30 seconds

The NiveauMax team simulator visualizes active reactions in real time. Pick your 4 characters and the Esper Cycle wheel lights up on compatible pairs. No need to test in-game to validate a build.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Building with 4 elements far apart on the wheel: no reaction triggers, you lose half your potential damage.
  • Ignoring Cycle Intensity on Cartridges: it multiplies every reaction.
  • Switching too fast without letting the active character apply DPS: the reaction buff expires before being exploited.
